The city’s population keeps fluctuating. Some of you are returning home from your spring break trip all sun kissed and peeling, while others are frantically boarding planes. With every college and university in the midst of their reading weeks, one begins to wonder where everyone is going.
Three tequilas might still lead to the floor south of the border, but when the floor is covered in white sand- bring it on.

A collaboration of industry insiders, dance music artists, producers, DJs, radio program personnel and members of the media from over 62 countries, this is not to be missed. And be glad you’re 21! This American favourite is home to blondes, Budweiser and sun burns. On March 22, the 41st Annual Easter Beach Run will see hundreds of visiting college students sprinting down the sand. There’s no better way to work off all that hamburgers and ice cream. If you’re going to be in town late March, be sure to check out the Spring Break Nationals where you’ll find car audio displays and competitions.
Varadero Cuba

Cuba is known for two things; horrible food and amazing beaches. Students flock to its white, sandy beaches and party through the night. For one grand, you can get a full week of all you can eat, all you can drink messiness. Its one of the cheapest all inclusive destinations you can find, and offers the same amenities as some of the more exclusive islands. Pack nutella and avoid the bat cave- it’s really not all it’s hyped up to be.

The beaches here are second only to Cuba, but the food and resorts are much, much nicer. The price tag is also higher due to the taxes, but for the difference of a couple hundred dollars, you may find yourself much happier. There are also a number of new resorts that have opened up in the last year worth checking out, as well as the oh-so lucrative deal of getting paid to upgrade. Inquire for details at the front desk of your resort and remember to book your photo shoot with the exotic animals.
Cancun, Mexico
Has the bad press gone away yet?
Not exactly, but the media spotlight has caused the price of all inclusive packages to plummet compared to one year ago. Student party groups are bringing droves of thirsty, horny students to the sandy beaches and the party is still as hot as ever. Colourful wristbands, hilarious cell phone videos and being thankful you come home without mono are on the itinerary, so too is a week long hang over. Dance on the bar at Senior Frogs, or stagger along the shoreline at sunset, just live la vida loca.
If you’re staying home this break, welcome to the club. There’s a still ton to do in the city, from upcoming fashion weeks, to checking out local restaurants. Not to mention the basketball games, concerts and always fun nightlife. Get out there, be prepared to spend a little of your hard earned money and enjoy yourself. After all, who the reads on reading week anyway?
